Aliexpress is advertising this "Type 87" gas mask. It looks like an MF-11 gas mask but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
What's on your mind?
I just bought a CFF3 filter to test if it fits a GOST mask. I found online that it doesn't.
Is there any way to make a STANAG filter fit a GOST mask?
So im wanting to get a GM38 gas mask, and i was wondering what filters would be safe to use? I am planning on wearing the gas mask and wanting to be able to use the filter
I have one of these respirators. All the info I have found dates them 1939-1945, but mine is clearly dated 1/53 on the inside and on the expiratory valve. The lens alloys are marked 6/51. I have been told that this "Cold War" version is very rare. Is this correct? (I have also asked this question on the page for this mask).
Should I get a Chinese Type 99 gas mask? (A fake Shalon 4A1)
Hello I am a 13 year old boy who is obsessed with gas masks. I already own a PDF-2Sh and a PDF-D gas mask. What would be another cheap addition to my collection? I live in Australia if that helps :)
Does this filter fit GOST?!
I have had so many mixed responses! YES I KNOW IT'S STANAG!

Hello everyone! I have a kind of big problem here since two of my masks are deformed. One is the Israeli 4 (not my fault, it's like that when I got it), and another is my Haigu 700 (alright, probably my fault). Are there any ways for me to fix them, or should I use come to terms with it?
I just bought a PDF-2Sh gas mask and it smells a lot. Any ideas as to how I should remove the smell?
I got a Romanian M74 a few days back and it came with a CF-4 filter. I have heard conflicting things about the presence of asbestos or any other hazardous chemicals, and there's no page that actually lists information about their composition. A few years ago, someone here asked if they were safe to mixed-to-negative responses, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask again. The black print on the side reads:
I'm not sure exactly what it could mean, but I assume the manufacture date may have something to do with the numbers? I imagine the filter would most definitely be expired by now, but I'm not so worried about it being expired as I am about it being toxic.
EDIT: It's also worth noting, probably, that I did shake it and there was no noise. Also, I did the white paper test and nothing fell out.
Just wondering what is known about these filters, like what they claim to filter out and what their original scope of use was or industry or military. I would. also like to know anything else on chinese filters you have to share.
So I'm looking for a gas mask to buy but I don't know what to get. I want something that I can afford in the price range of atleast below £100. Preferably I'd want a modern one like S10 Avon but those are too expensive, and the older ones I'm worried about asbestos/charcoal linings. Finally it has to be available in the UK. Thank you and please please PLEASE help me start a collection.
While browsing this fandom i have seen quite a few people talking about the guy in a negative light and i was wondering what he did
The Helsinki University Museum and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health did some asbestos analyses for Finnish gas mask filters last year. Asbestos fibres were also present in the dust samples taken from the surface of the gas masks and in an air sample taken through the filter of a M/39.
Is there anywhere I can get parts for the M4 Mask? I'm trying to restore one and I can't seem to find that many components being sold. I'm mainly looking for the black/grey tape and wire used for the valves (or something like it, I'm sure wire harness-type tape is similar). Any other parts would be great, but I feel I'm not the only one who can't find any.
Anyone know where I can buy a Siebe Gorman radio operator headset and microphone? I have the mask missing the mic and headset so wondering if anyone knows where I can buy one to put on it.
