The BEM-4GP is a Belgian full-face gas mask which is notable for having an adjustable 40MM filter intake, which can be rotated 90 degrees left or right, with an intermediate position as seen in the provided image. This feature was useful when aiming rifles or other kinds of guns, or optical devices.
Construction and Kit Edit
The mask is primarily constructed of plastic and rubber. The mask features an oral-nasal cup and a large panoramic lens. The mask also has a plastic diaphragm to enhance the user's voice. It uses a six point head harness with adjustable straps. The masks were adopted in the 90s to replace old M51s, however, within few years they were replaced by FM12s.
