G'day!
I've 3D printed a filter box, and am a bit unsure of what to put in there to make it useful against biological threats. Will activated carbon along with cotton suffice, or do I need something more potent?
What's on your mind?

Alright here is a challenge for an expert on identifying differences between Russian PMK and GP-7 series masks. I've done some extensive research and reading but turning up empty handed for some answers. Here's what I know so far - anywhere there is a question mark is unclear to me whether it is correct or what features make it different.
PMK (military use)
PMK-1: triangular lenses, black frames, drinking tube, single filter
PMK-2: triangular lenses, unpainted frames, drinking tube, dual filter
PMK-3: easily identified by large oval 'bug eye' triangular lenses
PMK-4: panoramic lens, easily identified
PMK-5: panoramic lens, different from PMK-4 and easily identified
GP-7 (civilian use)
GP-7: round lenses, unpainted frames, NO drinking tube, single filter
GP-7V: round lenses, unpainted frames, drinking tube, single filter
GP-7VM: ? (this model is highly conflicted from the various posts and listings I have seen online, no one seems to know what a GP-7VM actually is - what shape of lenses, is it painted or unpainted, single or dual filter???)
GP-7W: ? (does it even exist?)
GP-7WM: ? (does it even exist?)
Specifically if you can comment on PMK-1 model variants, as well as GP-7V series and GP-7W series and clarify the defining features. Thanks
There doesn't really seem to be established conventions for a lot of things. For instance, country names are variable, inconsistent, and sometimes not entirely accurate.
One example would be how I would describe a mask from the Republic of Korea. Is that Korea, South Korea, Republic of Korea, or Korea (South)?
The situation is worse for Soviet (here, seemingly 'Russian') masks. Were they made in Russia, the Soviet Union, or the USSR? At some points, articles have included CCCP (using latin codepoints, oddly), and Сою́з Сове́тских Социалисти́ческих Респу́блик.
Actually, for that matter, how should we translate? How should transliteration and translation be handled in articles?
Where does the filter go in? Are those 40mm NATO, 40mm, or STANAG 4155 compliant? Is it worth having categories for thread compatibility?
Categories can be inconsistent too. The 'porkchop' filters are categorised under Gas Mask Canisters, despite not being canisters of any sort. Should they all be moved to something less specific, such as Gas Mask Filters, or should it get a distinct category to reflect the type?
Are categories 'mask' or 'masks'? For what it's worth, there seem to be more 'masks' categories.
We have a category for Respirators, a term which arguably covers every gas mask we have, but which only seems to be used for Half Face Masks
If a mask is used by a military, and also law enforcement, then is that a military mask? civilian mask? Is it both? Do we need a separate category to denote paramilitary uses?
Thoughts, please ^-^
Could I get some confirmation from someone what the most common Russian WW1 gas mask was? All of the other superpowers in WW1 (Germany, America, Britian, ect.) have thier gas masks (Small Box Resporator, GM - 15, ect.), but I couldn't find the Russian one.
-thanks!
