The Invalid Respirator is one of the more unusual devices that became available to the British public during WWII. [[File:|thumb|300px| April 5, 1941]]These were issued to people who had respiratory difficulties that limited them from wearing the standard civilian respirator. The pump made it easier for filtered air to get through to the wearer. The respirator was made by L & BR CO. As well as Avon. The mask, like all other WWII British Masks, probably has Blue Asbestos in the mask. (Blue asbestos is 100 times more dangerous than the regular white asbestos) I don't recommend that you wear this mask ever foe your own safety.
The Invalid Respirator is quite scarce to find today, but one can turn up once in a while from UK military and auction sites.
