Hungary is best known from its PMG copy, the 70M, and the World War II looking 75M. But the history of Hungarian respiratory equipments is far more extensive than this. A Hungarian engineer is credited for the invention of first real SCBA in the eraly 19th century! Not to mention that as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire Hungary was among the first users of gas masks during the First World War. Most Hungarian masks were influenced by German and later by Soviet designs, however there are only a few direct copies. Interesting to note that since the First World War Hungary uses 40mm filter connections, only a few countries do the same.
