The DK-62 was a Czechoslovak protective jacket for children, preceded by the DK-52.
Brief Overview[]
The jacket provides respiratory and upper body protection against the consequences of chemical warfare agents, toxic substances, radioactive particles and biological warfare agents. It is designed to be used by children from 1.5 to 3 years of age.
The DK-65 consists of a jacket which is made from a rubber yellow fabric, a foot air blower, wrapped rubber tube and a protective filter canister MOF-2 (MOF-4). The air supply through the filter canister into the jacket is ensured by accompanying persons.
Jacket[]
The jacket itself was made of brown/yellow rubber material. It had one square-shaped PMMA (plastic) visor, intake port and exhale valve at the top of the head hood part. The filter was connected to a corrugated tube and an air blower from the other side. A tight seal was provided by a compression belt which was also used on DK-52 and DK-88 jackets.
Kit[]
The kit consists of: protective jacket, corrugated hose, MOF style filter and manual air blower.
