Gas Mask and Respirator Wiki

A smaller company's take at the typical "Lidová maska" template, differing mainly in the valve assembly.

Mask overview[]

The mask is, in many ways, similar to an FM3. The facepiece is almost identical, and used to be the same shade of green (the one on the picture is sunburnt). The mask has triplex glass eyepieces, as is quite usual for masks of this period and origin. The six point head harness is also identical to the one on the FM-3, with no headpad. The middle strap adjusts on each side, whilst the top left and bottom right straps are one and the same, being adjusted at the point where they meet. The bottom strap points also function as an attachment point for the neck strap. The main, and only visible difference comes when one looks at the valve assembly. The housing is made of grey metal, sprayed grey. The intake thread is almost reminiscent of the one on the FM-1a, except for the lack of angle. It's spaced away from the facepiece, and features no valve, as it already has one in the filter. Instead, there is a rubber gasket to aid in the seal. The exhale valve is the main difference. On the inside it looks and works the same way, however, it is enclosed in a metal cover of sorts, with openings on the bottom, so that one doesn't exhale into the top of the filter (unlike on the FM-3).

Kit[]

The mask would've been sold with a tall greygreen canister with no logos. Only part which would specify the name would be the instructions on the inside of the lid. It would've been sold with the DF-1 filter.
