The E2 was an active civilian gas mask made by Englebert.

Mask overview[]

The E2 has a face blank made of black rubber and sports a short fixed hose of the same material that connects to the filter via a 25 mm thread. The mask has a 5 points head-harness made of rubber, circular eye pieces and an exhale valve at the front inside a small metal circular box. The inhale valve is housed in the section connected to the hose.

Filter[]

The filter is a large cylinder that is kept on the chest of the user through a specially designed harness. The size of this filter allowed a longer use of the mask in comparison to passive civilian respirators of the same era.

Kit[]

The mask came in a metal canister with its filter, special harness and some times a paper with the designation of this mask in French and Dutch.
