TheBiomaszk is the licensed variant of the Fenzy Biomask and the first panoramic mask manufactured in Hungary. It was in service by Katasztrófavédelem (Disaster Management), Rendőrség (Police) but it is mostly replaced by the MSA Auer 6S, the industry still uses it. Its orange silicon rubber variant is called Szupermaszk.

Overview[]

The facepiece is made of black neoprene and has a panoramic plastic eyepiece. It also has an oral-nasal cup. The harness is five-pointed and also made of neoprene, except the carrying strap which is made of fabric. The intake and the voice diagramph are on the front plastic housing clamped to the faceblank, while the exhale is on the chin part. Unlike on the original French-made ones the exhale valve is the same as on the 70M, except that it is made of neoprene and the exhale valve cover is different as well, the same is used on the Menekülő kámzsa and Respirátor FA series. However, some masks were repaired by other Fenzy related companies not Respirátor, these have a different exhale valve assebly, the same as on the original Biomask.

Manufacturers[]

The neoprene face blank and the harness were made in France by Fenzy (hence the Fenzy logo on them) but all other parts were manufactured in Hungary by Comasec Respirátor Rt. and later by Respirátor Rt..

Filter[]

The mask can be used with 40mm STANAG filters and with atmospheric pressure supplied air systems.

Service and kits[]

Originally the mask came in cardboard box with a short manual and the warranty, but this could be changed if it wasn't repaired by Respirátor.

Flag-hu-bm3 Belügyminisztérium (Ministry of the Interior)

The Police, and other organizations under the Ministry of the Interior used the mask as 90M Biomaszk. The most notable deployment of them were during the 2006 autumn demonstrations. Because these organisations used the 70M filter till the late 2000s, the masks needed to be equipped with a STANAG to GOST converter.

Kit:

  • Biomaszk
  • 70M, 93M or Respirátor A2B2E2K2P3
  • 70M bag (rarely used, usually just hang from the neck)
  • converter (only in case the 70M filter is issued)

Flag-fir Fire Brigade

Flag-civil-defence Civil Defence

The Katasztrófavédelem (Disaster Management - the fire brigade and the civil defence united under one organisation) used the mask simply as Biomaszk or Polgári védelmi keretálarc (Civil defence frame mask), till it was replaced by the MSA Auer 6S and its variants in the early 2010s. It was uses with Comasec Respirátor or Respirátor made A2B2E2K2P3 filters and did not have a carrier as it was just hang from the neck. The masks came in the standard cardboard box and packed in plastic bag, except the ones that were intended for civil defence purposes, those had a different cardboard box.

Flag-industry-2-2 Industry

In the industry it was used with Comasec Respirátor or Respirátor made industrial filters and other breathing apparatus, like the FLK-01.
