The Forsheda A4 is a civilian variant of the Forsheda F2 or Skyddsmask 90.

The main differences between the two are that the A4 has only one accessible filter port, as the second is permanently sealed (like the secondary ports on single intake Avon S10/FM12s), and that the A4 has no drinking tube. Can come with a hard, green or brown, plastic face form that is used to keep the rubber in the correct shape during storage. This plastic face form should be removed before use. The mask is said to form an almost suction cup type seal to the wearer's chin due to the lack of a sweat drainage hole in the chin cup.

The exhale assembly resembles the avon speech cone used in the S6 and later masks.
