This page does it's best to list all the filters made and produced by Helly Hansen. Note that the AH-filters have their own page and as such will only be linked there. All filters beside AH-filter and 60mm filter are in 40mm Nato.

NM21[]

The NM21 (Norsk Modell 21) is a filter used by the Norwegian Armed Forces. The filter has been used since the adoption of the NM16 (Skyddsmask m/51) (1950s - today) and has seen various different models throughout the years. The filter offers a protection rating of NBC.

The filter is built up so two halves are closed together in the middle, and has groves on the top and bottom. The filter has come with two different storage seals, one U-shaped one that covers inlet and outlet, and one with a screw cap on the outlet and a plug on the inlet of the filter.

NM21 - "Khaki"[]

Note that "Khaki" is not an official name and rather a description of the color of the filter. The filter is named NM21, as embossed on the filter, with no notable differences from the normal NM21, besides the color. The production period of the filter is unknown, but due to it only having been made with screwcaps (which feature a modern Helly Hansen logo), it is fair to assume that they are more modern than normal NM21 filters.

Grey civilian filter[]

This filter has no known designation, but is commonly referred to as the "grey filter". The filter mentioned here has no secondary designation either as its labelling tape is blank and it has no embossed name. The filter is a civilian and private purchase filter. The filter is assumed to be rated for NBC and would've been produced from the 60s to possibly mid-70s. This filter was sold alongside the civilian and private purchase LF-62.

The filter is structurally similiar to a tin can, with the bottom lid being clamped on. The bottom has H.J.H embossed on it. The filter seal was a U-shaped plug and cap that covered both the inlet and outlet. It also had a paper tape which showed if it had been opened, and stated the secondary designation.

Grey civil defence filter - SF[]

This filter has the secondary designation "SF", which refers to Sivil Forsvaret (the Civil Defence). As such this is a Civil Defence issued filter. The filter was issued alongside Civil Defence LF62s.

The filter is embossed with SF and its tape has SF imprinted on it. Besides this there is no known difference.

Grey unknown filter - KR[]

This filter has the secondary designation "KR", though its acronym is unkown. The filter was issued alongside the KR LF62.

The filter is embossed with KR and its tape has KR imprinted on it. Besides this there is no known difference.

FENM[]

This filter is a German export filter, though its success is wildly unknown. The filter is still to some extent being used by the Norwegian Armed Forces, as they're using up old stock.

The filter is not embossed with the designation, but has FENM printed on the top. The filter is structurally similiar to the NM21, though the FENM is 1.5 times larger in size. The size difference is made up of the top half being much larger, possibly allowing for more charcoal (or different gas filtering agent). The bottom half is the NM21 lower half.

BSt[]

The BSt is an industrial filter rated for dust and gases.

St[]

The St is an industrial filter rated for dust only. The filter is approved by the "Bureau of industry" (), same as the IMB.

The filter is made from aluminum or another similiar alloy and has a brown bottom piece that can be removed to expose the filter. The filter is extremely light. The filter has a tape around the top half stating the designation and filtered quality.

FN[]

The FN is an industrial filter for dust and gases. The filter is based out of the NM21, and might've been a gateway for selling NBC-rated filters to the industrial market. The filters that have been found are made in the 80s.

The filter is structurally identical to the NM21, down to having NM21 embossed on it. The filter is painted in a metallic gold colour, and has a descriptive plastic tape covering the lower half of the canister. The descriptive tape has it named as "FN". The filters golden look and white tape makes it appear similiar to the D17. The mask has a modern sealing system with a screw cap and a plug with a pulley. The mask is also sealed within a foil bag marked with date and designation.

60mm filters[]

For a while Helly Hansen produced 60mm filters for the Swedish variant of the Skyddsmask m/51. This mask is likely rated for NBC. The LGP62 was designed to allow the sale of 60mm filters on the Norwegian marked.
