The M. 1943 A was adopted by the Danish Brigade and supplied by the Swedish army, who had purchased and modified the masks at request of the Danish defectors. The mask continued its use after the re-instating of the Danish army in 1945 up until the late 50s.

The mask was an American M2A1 made of black rubber. The hose connection had been replaced with a 40mm DIN female thread for use with mask mounted filters. In the M. 1943 configuration, the mask would be carried in German tins. The prior M. 1940 configuration, as used by the Norwegians, included a hose and two types of carriers. One presumably German designed, and the carrier originally designed for the M2 series, designated Väska m/1940 T and Väska m/1940 A respectively.
