The M59 was the standard italian gas mask from 1959 that succeded the T.35.
Mask overview Edit
This mask is essentially a straight upgrade from the T.35. The mask is made from a kind of black rubber like the one of the post-war T.35 variants, it has an inner mask for better periferal seal and has an oral-nasal cup to avoid fogging. The lenses are triangular and give a very good field of view. The Intake is exactly like the T.35 but the exhale valve is on the left side and its cover can be turned to decide in which direction air should go. In the front there is a voice diaphragm.
The kit, the hose and the variant Edit
The mask comes in a canvas bag with its filter. Some times the mask comes with a hose, which means that the mask was made for tank use. There is a dedicated optical variant of the M59, the M73.
