Gas Mask and Respirator Wiki

The MD-1 (Latin Serbian: Maska Dečija — "Child Mask") is a respirator designed for children, manufactured by Miloje Zakić in Kruševac, Yugoslavia (now in Serbia) mostly in the later part of the 1980s.

The MD1 was a smaller version of B2 industrial mask

Background[]

The MD-1 was manufactured as a result of the decision of the Federal Executive Council of Yugoslavia (Official gazette 3/83) to establish resources for personal and collective protection against war and other dangers.

On November 12th 2020, MIRA Safety announced an updated version of the MD-1 with the same designation, but in 40MM, made of black rubber and featuring a skull cap type harness, meaning the MD-1 is still currently produced by Trayal. MIRA has stated that these masks will be sold some time in January 2021.
