Hey I recently got a 75M and wanted some help on some things 1. It’s deformed and everytime I put it on it burns my skin and I very uncomfortable how can I fix that 2. Can I wash it? I’m scared to since mood could get under the stockinet coating of the face piece 3. is there a way I can switch the straps to my shalon 4a1 straps since the straps are garbage. and 4 is there any way I can improve the mask myself?
First of all do you have the right size? because that is an important question. You can't do anything with the deformation, it was stored like that for 30 years, so you should keep it on a faceform to make it good again for 5 years or so, which is kinda mpossible and useless, cheaper to buy another one. Of course, you can wash it, just hang it on the carrying strap in a dark and dry place after. You can replace the straps but because I don't know how the straps on the 4a1 look like, how exactly those work nor the dimensions I can't tell any advice. I was designed to be a cheap and easy to produce mask there are no options to improve it.
It’s a size 1 so should I get a larger size? But my head is not fully grow yet so it should fit fine and I have replaced the straps already just the part where the straps meet is sitting on the very top of my head I also wanted to ask is there any where I can buy a 60M valve?
But the connection is very weak, if somebody for example just bought a M/31 and wants to read about it and see what was with the Finnish Zelinskys he can be confused a bit, nice info but he wanted something about the M/31.
Dude you upload a bad picture, it gets removed by a moderator who replaces it with a better picture, and then you upload your same bad picture again? What makes you think it will be better the second time?
The idea behind the photos was good. The anti fogging inserts werent shown really and it is good to show to the reader that there are repros of the GM17. BUT!
You just made a PrtSc and uploaded the photo. The frame, esc button, back-forward buttons, etc. were still there, which is not to aesthetic... I sometimes do PrtSc's as well but then I use MS Paint (or other photo editers) to cut down the unwanted parts.
hey buddy, I was editing a article on the polish mp-5, because the article was old, and it said the mp-5 was the current issue gas mask of poland, which it is not, and you deleted it for no apparent reason, and very rudely said this wiki isnt for preppers, 1.I am not a prepper, I was just saying that preppers like this mask because it is new and in date, and 2. this mask has completely been replaced by the polish mp-6, which the article said otherwise. and also, I have seen you being a jerk to new people for making tiny mistakes, which just makes this amazing community more toxic, 1. I ask that you apologise to me and anyone else, and 2. If I see you being a jerk to anyone else, I WILL report you. please reply
Hello, the main topic of your edit was perfectly reasonable and true, the MP-5 is not in service anymore. However, on this wiki we try to avoid things like "this is a good quality mask" or etc. And your edit contained exactly this: "but many civilians have used this mask as a very reliable prepping mask, because the mask and filters are currently some of the best, most affordable masks on the market". This sentence is not acceptable on this wiki. "This wiki is not for preppers" wasn't meant for you personally, it was about the content of your edit. Sorry if you felt like that. Yes, I might seem like I'm a jerk. But we (as moderators) have to keep this wiki alright. Sometimes this means deleting and reversing bad edits. Which happen many times. But if you are willing to learn from your mistakes you can be a good editor on this wiki. For example, a user called Roskow edited the Model 128, Model 130 and Duiker articles. His edits weren't good, very messy. I reversed the articles. And a week or two later he came up with two very nice, good articles.
sorry for getting to you late, I will try not to post anything about preppers again, and thanks for telling me you werent trying to be a jerk, I apreciate it. .P.S. I did not know that you were a moderator, I expected you to be some 7 year old that thinks he knows everything, but really doesnt, and that obviousely isnt true, lol, thanks for apologising, cheers!
It can be a 60M but I'm not sure because I can't see the mould number on the side, near tot the valve assembly. The valve is a bit too dark as well, but that can be just the lighting. It is either a 60M, Md.58 or an early SzM-41M, but the last two are unlikely.
Do you think that it is possible to reconvert the GP-5 Mask for use against Coronavirus ? (I serious believe that you are “ultra bothered “with all this virus issue) but if this idea as some “legs” millions of Gp-5 Masks could be used against the virus.
A “standard” FFP3 chirurgical mask could be used to reconvert GP-5 Masks in this way- (Photo included)
One single ffp3 mask tissue could be used in several GP-5.
Thanks for your attention.
Hello, using this might protect individuals from the virus for a short time but if you need to change the filtering paper it can contaminate your hand and other things as well. Using masks agains COVID-19 is a bit overkill unless you are a person who medically treats people (doctor e.g.). After using this mask or any other mask against the virus you should carefully decontaminate it and the full clothing unless it is pointless to use any PPE. The best and cheapest solutions are to stay at home or don't care at all. Have a nice day.
