The P.C. 38 is a very cheap civilian gas mask.
The I.A.C. variant is the 22th gas mask approved by the S.C.M. (Servizio Chimico Militare, chemical military service) on 22 july 1938.
The Superga variant is the 27th gas mask approved by the S.C.M. (Servizio Chimico Militare, chemical military service) on 13 march 1939.
Mask overview
The face piece is made of this mask is a very cheap rubber which tends to melt over time if exposed to UV light . It has a panoramic visor similar to the one of the english civilian respirator. It uses the standard exhale sistem for italian masks and an intake thread slightly facing leftward. It uses a two straps system, which are the continuation of the face piece.

Filter
This mask uses a I.A.C. (Industria Articoli Caucciù, Rubber Articles Industry) and usually comes with a "training filter", a red screw-on gadget which had both a female and a male screw thread. The filter was stored with a paper disc on it's intake.

As many other italian civilian masks, the P.C. 38 came in a card box with the filter, the training filter, the pamphlet, the cloth bag and the anti-fogging soap.
