The ShM-1d (Russian: Шлем Маска-1 детский "Helmet Mask-1 children") was a children gas mask based on the ShM-1 issued in the 1940s. The facepiece was used on the children variant of the GP-2 called D-6.

Overview[]

The facepiece is a helmet styled rubber mask. It has two circular eyepieces in crimped on metal assemblies and Tissot tubes system which are an older type, not integrated in the mask. It has a nape strap like the later PMG, only the size 4 and 5 lacks of it. The valve housing is the same as on the ShM-1 but it is painted gray. The mask was made in 5 sizes.

Filter[]

The filters (D3, D4 and D5) are grey or green painted canisters threaded in 40mm gost which would connect to the mask using a hose.

Bag and kit[]
