The Swedish Folkgasmask Nordover Typ 15 was a civilian-issued gas mask during the early 1940's. The mask is similar in design to the British General Civilian Respirator, but has two round eyepieces instead of one.
Overview[]
This gas mask has a very simple design with thin plastic covering the entire face, a fixed filter and a three-point head harness. The mask doesn't have an exhale valve, only a simple rubber intake valve cover inside of the facepiece. The Type 15 mask is easy to distinguish from it's predecessors by looking for the manufacturer and size rubber stamp on the forehead labeling "NORDOVER" and it's size. The type 15 was made in sizes ranging from 1 to 3, being labeled as "I" (large), "II" (medium) and "III" (small). The mask comes in a small cardboard carrier box with the gas mask's label on the front and instructions on its back.
Filter[]
Type 15 filter 1
The filter for the type 15 gas mask, "272 NORDOVER typ 15", came fixed to the type 15 mask. You can find fitler stamps and date stamps on the filters sides.
