Successor to the VSS M/62 and predecessor to the VSS M/71. This respirator had a relatively short service life as it was replaced by the M/71 after just 6 years. The main difference between the M/65 and M/71 would be the less elaborate facepiece/visor surround, leading to many M/65 being incorrectly identified as M/71 masks. The mask would be used for industrial use, however a large quantity where produced for civil defense purposes.
