The Protiplynová Ochranná Maska Vzor 27 (Antigas protective mask model of 1927) was an upgraded version of the earlier Vz.23 mask, and thus is also based on the french A.R.S. . By 1939, 1 467 821 were made.

Overview[]

The mask was made out of double layered, rubberized and impregnated canvas, just like it's predecessor. It had triplex glass eyepieces, held in by screw on rims. It had a valve assembly quite reminiscent of the Vz.35, however that's understandable, as this mask was one of it's predecessors. The exhale valve, in the upper part of the valve assembly, was covered with a grille which read "((placeholder))". The intake part was directly under it, with an angled pipe, to which a stockenite covered hose was attached.

Kit[]

The mask was issued with the Vz.27 haversack (no picture) and Vz.27 filter. The filter would later be used with the Vz.33 and Vz.35 masks
