The Yugoslavian Horse Gas Mask was a JNA (Jugoslavenska narodna armija - Yugoslav People's Army) gas mask designed specifically for horses to protect against NBC threats and exposure. Little information is currently known about this mask, including when it was designed and it's technical designation.

The mask features a gas hood that covers the head, ears and upper neck of the horse, whilst a respirator with dual intake valves and one exhale valve protects the muzzle of the horse.

The mask uses many of the same material's used in other Yugoslavian masks, most notably the gas hood is supposedly made out of the same material as the ponchos that come in MC-1 kits, whereas the respirator portion is supposedly made out of the same rubber used in the M-1 series of masks. This could mean that this mask was created at or around the same time those masks were introduced, but this is unconfirmed.

Carrier[]

The mask was stored in a large sturdy carrier containing strings around the opening, the buttons on it are similar as the one found on the M-1 carrier.
